The town adopts a delivery method that entrusts cooking and delivery to a contractor in Ayase City, and ordering foods and making menus are made by nutritionists of town staff. The total number of students in 2 schools is about 760 people, and the agency fee for contractors is about 33 million yen per year. Parents are responsible for paying 4900 yen per month, which is a part of them.

The menu was made with consideration for nutritional balance and calories, but from the beginning it was unpopular that "taste is light", "looks bad", "side dishes are cold" etc.
According to the town, the "residual meal rate" indicating the percentage of leftovers left is 26% on average, sometimes reaching 55%. It is prominent compared to the national average of 6.9% of the elementary and junior high schools studied by the Ministry of the Environment in 2015.
The town education committee, which plagued me with such a situation, conducted a questionnaire survey for students, parents and teachers in July. Asking "How much do you eat" "What is to leave?" "Why do you want to leave it?" "Why?", Etc. Currently, I am analyzing the results of the survey.
